How to choose a laser thickness gauge?

Laser thickness gauge is generally composed of two laser displacement sensors that shoot up and down. The two sensors measure the position of the upper and lower surfaces of the measured object respectively, and calculate the thickness of the measured object. The advantage of a laser thickness gauge is that it uses non-contact measurement, which is more accurate than a contact thickness gauge and will not lose accuracy due to wear. Compared to ultrasonic thickness gauges, the accuracy is higher. Compared to X-ray thickness gauges, there is no radiation contamination.

Application scope of laser thickness gauge: it can be widely used for real-time online measurement of contour, thickness, width, diameter, material level and vibration of various transparent and non transparent plates, sheets, foam plates, hollow plates, waterproof rolls, films, patches, metal plates and other products in rubber, steel, automobile, machinery, light industry and other industries.

How to choose a laser thickness gauge? You can refer to the following points:

1. Tell the manufacturer various information about the measured product, such as product thickness, vibration, movement speed, etc., in order to determine which thickness gauge is needed.

2. What is the thickness range of the tested product and what is the smaller thickness? A thickness gauge with a suitable range is generally recommended based on these two outer diameter values.

3. What is the required accuracy for the thickness of the measured object? The measurement accuracy of laser thickness gauges can generally be better than 0.01mm, with an accuracy of 0.004mm. A suitable one can be selected based on the measurement range and accuracy.

4. Customer service recommends a suitable thickness gauge. If possible, you can go directly to the manufacturer to learn more.
