Precautions when selecting a heat meter

Precautions when selecting a heat meter

What are the issues to pay attention to when choosing a heat meter

1. Rated flow rate of heat meter

There is currently a misconception in the selection of heat meters, which is to choose a heat meter based on its nominal diameter. The correct method is to choose a heat meter based on its rated flow rate. According to section 4.3.3 of the national standard CJ128-2000 for heat meters, the commonly used flow rate of the heat meter should comply with the requirements of GB/T778 for cold water meters, with a first level commonly used flow rate of 0.6m3/h. The ratio of commonly used traffic to low traffic should be 10, 25, 50, or 100. A heat meter with a nominal diameter of ≤ 40mm must have a ratio of 50 or 100 between its commonly used flow rate and low flow rate.

2. Consider the installation location and form

According to different engineering projects, some heat meters are installed at the inlet end, some are installed at the return end, and some are designed for vertical installation. In this way, when purchasing a heat meter, it is necessary to first understand whether the product of interest can meet the above requirements. As mentioned earlier, some heat meters use the K-coefficient method to calculate heat, which requires installation location, while others cannot be installed vertically.

(1) The installation size of the heat meter should be relatively small, but of course, the installation size also depends on the choice of the sensor connected to the valve. This type of watch, whether installed indoors or outdoors, will save building space. In some cases, it is necessary to choose a heat meter that can be installed vertically.

(2) Can the display part of the integrator be flexibly adjusted in angle. In general, the installation space of a heat meter is relatively narrow, and there are often pipes or other meters above the heat meter. The installation position of some heat meters is also different. If the display part of the heat meter cannot be adjusted, it will bring inconvenience to future meter reading work.

(3) The display menu has complete display functions. The display of various parameters is clear at a glance. The waterproof and dustproof performance of the heat meter. The inlet end of a heat meter is usually equipped with a filter, and the filter needs to be frequently discharged, which inevitably splashes water onto the heat meter. In addition, there is usually a lot of dust in the pipeline well, so the waterproof and dustproof performance of the heat meter is also important.
